Volunteering with Lizard Outreach Trust
We could not carry out our work with Young people on The Lizard without
the help of our team of dedicated Volunteers. They have been involved
with the provision of a range of after-school clubs, Holiday activities and trips this year.

'The Base' Youth Club
In November 2009 a group of Local Volunteers worked on decorating and
building projects to prepare the Landewednack Church Hall for use of
the over 11's of the peninsular as a Youth Club. Volunteers sought
donations from the local community to equip the club with Toys and
Games and the Children were involved with our Youth Worker on the
Opening day creating decorations and making the space their own.
'The Base' Youth club runs on the First two Fridays of every month
and is proving to be a popular and much appreciated social opportunity
for our young people from The Lizard village and surrounding area.
Families from Mannaccan, Mulllion and St Martin use the facility,
and have been having lots of fun and making plans for the future.
Volunteers and our Youth Worker run the sessions and are always
extremely grateful for offers of help and support. They have recently
benefited from visits from a local Dance & Drama teacher Hannah
Johnson. Disco nights were a big hit, with equipment and music
provided by Sue & Steve Glover. Marie King volunteered a
great deal of her time to make Games nights great! Please
get in touch if you want to be part of the Fun on Fridays!
